An AI that actually reads receipts.
From camera to insight: AI scanning, async processing, review, categories, canonical items, and multi-currency reports — built end-to-end from the real app.
AI receipt extraction
Google Document AI parses the receipt structure first, then OpenAI validates against the original image — merchant, date, line items, tax, totals, and per-item confidence scores with dual-model accuracy.
Async scanning jobs
Image scans run in the background through the job API, with in-app banners (and push) the moment processing completes — no waiting on a loading screen.
Review before saving
Edit receipt fields and line items, handle duplicate warnings, and clarify low-confidence items before they become records.
Categories that stay tidy
15 preset spending categories included, with custom CRUD, AI suggestions, confirm-all actions, bulk moves, and uncategorized item review.
Canonical item tracking
Normalized product names and aliases merge repeated purchases so users can track one item across many receipts.
Reports with live currency
Day, week, month, and year analytics show category totals, merchants, top items, AI usage, and converted totals.
Monthly budget limits
Set a monthly spending cap and track progress in real time. The budget card shifts from green to red as you approach your limit, with in-app alerts at 75%, 90%, and when exceeded.
Full receipt editing
Edit every field on a saved receipt — merchant, totals, currency, and every line item. Add new items, change categories inline, or correct AI extraction errors before they affect your reports.
Arabic & RTL ready
The interface is localized with full right-to-left support. In-app language switching between English and Arabic is rolling out soon.
From a receipt to a spend story.
Four app screens, one static flow: capture, process, review, and understand.
Snap or enter
Use camera, photo library, raw text, or manual entry. The app guards scans against your daily plan limits.
AI extracts
The backend runs structured extraction, validates the JSON, checks duplicates, and tracks AI usage.
Review with confidence
Fix totals, currency, payment method, or line items before saving. Ambiguous items can be clarified.
Track the story
Reports, categories, canonical items, and top merchants make each receipt useful after the scan.

Common questions
Invoisor sends receipt images or raw text through the backend extraction pipeline, which reads merchant details, dates, line items, quantities, tax, totals, currency, payment method, and confidence scores. The response is validated with a strict schema before it becomes receipt data.
Every plan starts with a 7-day free trial — no credit card. After that you can continue on Plus ($4.99/month or $49.99/year, up to 150 scans/month) or Pro ($11.99/month or $119.99/year, up to 450 scans/month plus higher-accuracy scans). Annual billing saves about 17%. If your trial or plan ends, you can still view receipts you've already saved.
The app has currency and region preferences, stores receipts in their original currency, and converts report totals into your display currency. The backend falls back to ZAR when a currency cannot be detected.
Accounts use JWT access and refresh tokens, and protected endpoints require authentication. The backend stores receipts, items, categories, AI usage, and jobs in PostgreSQL, with profile and password flows handled through the auth API.
Yes. The mobile app lets you review and edit receipt fields, currency, payment method, and individual line items before or after saving. You can also reassign categories and manage canonical items.
Yes. Set a monthly budget from the Home screen or Settings. A compact card tracks your progress with colour-coded tiers — green when you're on track, shifting to yellow, orange, and red as you approach your limit. You get an in-app alert at 75%, 90%, and when you exceed it, each firing only once per calendar month. The same progress bar appears on the Reports monthly view.
You can take receipt photos offline — the app queues them and uploads automatically when your connection is restored. Everything else (manual entry, editing, category actions, profile changes) requires an internet connection and is clearly blocked with an inline notice when offline.
